Process Champion, Procure to Pay

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.


Role purpose:


This is a key role within the department in the GBS Finance Global Hub that is customer oriented and requires excellent communication skills.  The role will support departmental team members and management to deliver improved quality, speed and customer service across all transactional service offerings.  Daily/Weekly/Monthly performance monitoring will be performed and remedial actions to address target shortfalls identified




Be the primary Subject Matter Expert in your area of responsibility, advise on best practices, share Use learning outcomes to improve team training, process documentation and where necessary stakeholder knowledge with operational teams on a regular basis to ensure high quality operational delivery is achieved.

Have an in-depth knowledge of systems and processes being able to effectively advise teams on complex issues, support in proposing solutions to complex issues.


Communication and Cooperation


  • Act as a communication channel between operational teams and other departments, and foster departmental collaboration.
  • Accurately represent their business units’ needs to the GBS Finance Projects team. Acting as the main point of contact between GBS Finance Project team and operational teams.
  • Work with, and understand of, cross-functional areas to agree process change for this align regularly align with GPO of the area.
  • Provide regular status updates to management and provide support to resource allocation and prioritization decisions
  • Work closely with customers, stakeholders, the GBS Finance Projects team and the departmental team to ensure quality service is delivered.  Take all necessary actions to resolve issues/request in a timely manner. 
  • Operate /review regular (daily, weekly, monthly) metrics dashboard and provide regular updates to management on status of key activities, highlighting any risk to service delivery.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to operations through handling queries effectively and professionally.


Quality and improvements


  • Support process improvement initiatives by working closely together with GBS Finance Projects team relating to process changes and development.
  • Support the definition of processes and policies, supply business rules and procedures, and communicate the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied.
  • Drive improved service delivery through analysis of quality and volume metrics to identify trends or additional opportunities to improve end to end processes and team performance.
  • Provide advice and assistance on business processes and best practice to users, make sure best practices are shared across the teams.
  • Prioritize business process issues in your area across the GH.
  • Drive through and recommend continuous improvement ensuring CI initiatives are shared and channeled in to GBS Finance Projects team.
  • Monitor Service Now open statuses in particular attention to SLA and unassigned tickets highlight potential issues to operational leaders.
  • Drive quality improvement by reviewing closed SN tickets and identify training requirements.
  • Liaise with management and team members to plan and deliver training as necessary.
  • Support new joiner training by testing and reviewing training statuses together with seniors/supervisors as and when requested.




  • Act as a first point of contact for department when it comes to SAP implementations, close cooperation with GBS Projects team.
  • Be accountable for delivery of operational tasks in all testing phases. (Ex: ITC, UAT)
  • Collect and revise issues before and after go-live, share findings with Projects team.
  • Take part in operational aspects of projects, by reviewing, advising and testing.




  • 3-5 years operational experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SSC environment
  • Degree in Finance
  • General hardware and software knowledge (MS Office); advanced excel
  • Strong ERP / SAP system knowledge
  • Process development
  • Previous experience of documentation control/management systems
  • Knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques
  • English (Upper - Intermediate)
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with all levels within the organization
  • Able to understand and investigate topics related to multiple business areas
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Very good interpersonal skills with excellent customer service and “can do “mentality
  • Process orientation and user satisfaction attitude
