Procurement Analyst

About the job and your team

 

You work with Category Managers, internal stakeholders, PMO and VP Procurement in identifying and pursuing significant cost reduction initiatives and defining contracting optimization strategies that seek total cost of ownership, sustainable solutions and service level improvements.

In particular, the role includes

 

Procurement projects: you are involved in all phases in close collaboration with the Category Manager

 

  • Gather data from various sources as well as update existing databases 
  • Conduct spend, demand and specification analysis to identify savings initiatives and prepare price / best practice benchmarking
  • Compile RFI / RFQs and assess their results while building cost competitive procurement scenarios 
  • Act as the interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders (e.g. operations, supply chain, …)  to collect their requirements and constraints in the RFx documents or to convey them RFx conclusions
  • Build workplans, anticipate project needs and propose improvements, develop recommendations, follow project implementations and track savings for the organisation

 

Procurement and supplier relations

 

  • Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings, negotiations or performance reviews (negotiation packages or feedback re. KPI’s, service level clauses, price lists, etc.)
  • Support the collection, analysis and reporting of data to support supplier risk management efforts

 

Procurement performance and reporting

 

  • Generate reports including monthly actuals, forecasts, budget variances, and ad hoc analysis to measure the implementation of savings initiatives (commercial or non-commercial)
  • Manage and maintain the spend cube tool together with internal stakeholders (business process owners, local finance or procurement)
  • Develop other common procurement analysis tools & methodology for the pool of analysts

 

Market and cost intelligence 

 

  • Conduct market analysis of categories to stay abreast of recent market trends and define implications for the organization 
  • Provide assistance to the category managers for the development of their category strategies
  • Develop and maintain cost models for purchased materials and services following market indices

Your qualifications and skills

 

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years as Purchasing / Procurement Analyst and / or a Materials Management related role
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, with extensive experience in manipulating data with the ability to process a large amount of items, automate worksheets and draw inferences about spend and suppliers
  • Knowledge of Power Query/Pivot/BI, tender or supplier management tools, and ERP systems is a plus
  • Fluency in English is essential, while knowledge or proficiency in other European languages is appreciated

  • Team player able to collaborate with various functions / departments and to share your knowledge
  • Proactive in looking for data or finding solutions
  • Strong and factual in conclusions (documented in precise and simple language)
  • Curious and persistent to overcome challenges of working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Flexible and willing to travel 

 

IT skills

 

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, modelling, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Power Query/Pivot/BI and other tender or supplier management tools is an advantage
  • ERP (SAP or other) experience is a plus
