SMO Service Financial Management Expert

Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.

 

Role purpose:

As an IT SMO Financial Management Expert, you will be a critical driver of financial strategy and optimization across the entire service lifecycle, with a strong focus on service design and continuous service improvement.

Your expertise will play a pivotal role in understanding and managing the cost drivers of various services and IT technical assets building up these services. You will be responsible for maintaining financial oversight to drive informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the financial sustainability of the SMO. You will be the owner of the financial governance of GBS IT Services while aligning IT SMO financial strategies with the organization's objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

Service Financial Governance:

  • Govern the financial component of all IT services within the SMO scope
  • Ensure that SMO financial practices align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and enforce financial controls and policies specific to IT service financial management

 

Service Pricing and Charging:

  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate service pricing and charging models
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers of IT services, ensuring transparent cost allocation
  • Collaborate with service owners and business stakeholders to set competitive and cost-effective pricing
  • Regularly review pricing models to ensure they reflect changing business and market conditions

 

Cost Analysis and Optimization:

  • Analyze and track costs associated with GBS IT services, technical assets, and their utilization
  • Work closely with service owners and technical teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization without compromising service quality

 

Financial Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, dashboards and KPIs related to IT services
  • Communicate service financial insights, recommendations, and risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed for financial audits

 

Service Portfolio Management:

  • Collaborate with Service Portfolio Management to align pricing and charging with the overall portfolio strategy

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in IT financial management and service pricing
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and service optimization, making recommendations for enhancements

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in IT Financial/Service management area
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience in IT financial management
  • Deep understanding of cost drivers in IT services and technical assets
  • Experience in service pricing strategies and models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
  • Nice to have certifications: e.g., ITIL, Certified IT Financial Management, Certified Public Accountant
