Senior UX Designer
Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
About the job and your team
The Senior UX Designer will support our mission to build an IT organisation with user focused mindset. His/her role will be to contribute to our effort to embed and scale UX/service design practice in GBS IT, in both Modern Workplace team as well as across our IT teams globally. This role also contributes on further growing the service design practice that Modern Workplace have recently created to foster a customer-centric culture.
You will work on
- Empower the IT organization to design based on user experiences.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment with project goals.
- He/she master gathering and using customer insights, frame service challenges, articulate opportunities, create concepts and lead the design of new services from initial brief to delivery.
- Scope, plan and grow service design efforts with our UX design team, and ready to handle projects across all lifecycle stages. Guiding UX team through service design framework, containing surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
- Create design documentation, including design specifications, to facilitate implementation by development teams.
- Analyse user feedback and metrics to make data-driven design decisions and improve the user experience over time

Your qualifications and skills
- Extensive work experience (5+ years) in UX/service design or a mix of service, UX, and research design and a demonstrated ability to drive activities following double diamond service design method
- An understanding of Agile methodologies and practices and experience working with agile teams preferred
- University degree in design, social sciences, psychology, or computer science.
- Fluency in English
- Fluent with using customer insights, running contextual research, mapping customer journeys, leading ideation workshops, prototyping and blueprinting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address user experience challenges.
- A creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative design solutions.
- Ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, and imagine yourself in their place.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Miro, Dovetail, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar software.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
