Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
 

About the job and your team

The IT Software Lifecycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of software applications, from planning and development through to deployment, ongoing management, and decommissioning. This role ensures that software applications align with business requirements and IT governance standards, supporting optimized and sustainable IT operations. The manager also ensures compliance with Software Asset Management (SAM) processes and policies, driving consistent application of standards across the organization.

You will work on

•    Oversee the entire software lifecycle, from initial planning and development to deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
•    Ensure each phase of the software lifecycle is effectively managed, focusing on minimizing risks and optimizing the value derived from software assets.
•    Align SAM goals, standards, and scope across the organization. Drive SAM policy and common process implementation within the company.
•    Ensure the execution of SAM strategy, including safeguarding the quality of SAM processes 
•    Collaborate with software procurement to align with business needs and budget constraints.
•    Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that software applications meet their needs. Also enforce ITAM rules and directives with the stakeholders to ensure Hydro’s compliance
•    Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure software reliability, performance, and alignment with business requirements while proactively mitigating risks related to licensing, compliance, and security.
•    Foster a culture of continuous improvement and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for software lifecycle and SAM management.
•    Ensure comprehensive documentation of software applications, licensing, and all Software Lifecycle management processes.
•    Create dashboards and regular reports on software status, lifecycle stages, for compliance and opportunities for cost optimization.

Your qualifications and skills

•    3+ years in Software Asset Management, Licence Management, IT Asset Management
•    Minimum 3-year relevant University Degree
•    Strong understanding of IT governance, SAM frameworks, compliance standards, and licensing models
•    Deep knowledge of IT asset and software asset management best practices
•    Knowledge of ITIL, ITAM, SAM or similar IT service management frameworks
•    Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
•    Functional Knowledge: IT Asset Management, CMDB 
•    Technical knowledge: knowledge of Service Management tools (e.g. ServiceNow, CMDB)
•    Project management
•    Change management
•    Established skills in time management, prioritisation of work and multi-tasking
•    Customer service orientation
•    Service mindedness
•    Attention to detail
