Sustainability Procurement Specialist

Sustainable Procurement is the process of integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals into Procurement and supply chain.

 

Responsibilities:

 

You support the Procurement team of Hydro Extrusions in building strong, long-term relationships with suppliers. Improving performance on environmental, social and ethical issues is vital to developing such relationships. 

In particular, the role includes:

 

  • Being up to date on new regulatory requirements and ensure compliance within Hydro Extrusions
  • Keeping contact with Hydro Corporate to ensure the requirements and tools proposed make sense for Hydro Extrusions
  • Improving and keeping updated the Sustainability in the Supply Chain and Integrity Due Diligence procedures for Hydro Extrusions ensuring compliance with Hydro and legal requirements
  • Developing guidelines/templates to support implementation in all categories and sites (e.g. supplier self-assessment and on-side audit questionnaires)
  • Being updated on market platforms for supplier rating and becoming the super user for the ones selected for Hydro Extrusions (e.g. EcoVadis, PwC tool, IDD, etc.)
  • Giving hands-on support to the Hydro Extrusions business units for implementation of the procedures
  • Reporting towards Hydro and legal requirements (e.g. Hydro ESG reporting, Hydro Extra-financial reporting, Germany's Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), etc.)
  • Establishing a method to measure and reduce our Scope 3 emissions in collaboration with the Sustainability team
  • Anchoring sustainability in our Procurement/supply chain decisions (e.g. part of the evaluation criteria in our tenders and foundation for partnership, part of the continuous improvement targets in the contracts with our suppliers)
  • Promoting and supporting Procurement improvement projects that lead to reduced consumption and exposition on waste, more circularity (e.g. route optimization, intermodal (incl. rail freight) transportation, packaging specification reduction, greener packaging materials, etc.)
  • Standardizing and digitalizing the monitoring of our supplier base (SAP) considering different parameters such as Supplier Code of Conduct status, CO2 emissions, EcoVadis rating, etc.
  • Creating communication materials that support all the above: supplier communication packages, supplier days and webinars for key categories, etc.
  • Training for Procurement community and suppliers and creation of supporting documents
  • Supporting the Hydro Extrusions business units with their certifications that include requirements on Sustainability in the Supply Chain (ASI, Cradle to Cradle, etc.)

Key Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field such as Purchasing Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management 
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a benefit
  • 5 years working experience in Procurement or Supply Chain

  • Analytical, data, and reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and storytelling skills as stakeholder engagement, both internal and external
  • Change management and leadership to persuade stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices and to lead cross-functional teams towards ESG objectives
  • Adaptable, as sustainability standards and regulations are rapidly evolving 
  • Project management and time management skills are needed to run multiple projects in parallel
  • Ambitious, enjoying working in a self-motivated environment, taking ownership of own goals

Business trips can be expected according to project requirements up to 25% of worktime per year.

 

The candidate selected for this role will have to work in a hybrid mode, home office combined with some days/week in the closest Hydro Extrusions plant.
