Job Summary: Coordinates freight, shipping and receiving functions for metal as well as supplies and services for The Dalles cast house.   Works as a team player with Customer Service, Production Planning and Purchasing.

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a logistics department

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 

• Associates degree in business
• Previous experience with SAP

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtains quotes from freight carriers to ensure Hydro receives cost effective rates and superior service, resulting in on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Schedules all freight carriers for customer metal shipments as well as any shipments to vendors or pickups from vendors, utilizing Hydro’s freight system.
• Develops core relationships with freight carrier account representatives and dispatch contacts.
• Ensures freight carriers arrive as scheduled with daily communications and follow up.
• Develops knowledge and awareness of customer specific requirements and expectations.
• Coordinates all shipments with Customer Service, Production Planning and loading crews.
• Prepares and enters all shipping documents against sales orders, while reviewing work for quality, accuracy, risk elimination, and completeness, prior to distribution.
• Emails all shipping documents to customers daily.
• Reviews all supplier shipping documents for incoming metal, supplies and services, to determine details of receipts and entry of receipts against purchases.
• Maintains various spreadsheets for tracking shipments and receipts.
• Organizes and maintains records as required by Hydro standards, guidelines and policies.
• Completes tasks timely, including day end as well as month end requirements.
