Maintenance Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage and improve the process of maintenance operations onsite in order to ensure failure prevention and failure restoration to an operable condition. Responsibilities include fostering a safe and reliable work environment for all employees and manufacturing areas by meeting Hydro and local Health, Environmental, Safety and Housekeeping standards - secured by following both internal and external standards, incl. ISO 9001/2000, 14001, 45001
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAFETY:

Accountable for the Safety Performance of the Maintenance activities, performed both by internal resources or contractors, including implementation of the Hydro Critical 7 and regulatory standards

Accountable for the Safe Operation of the equipment
-
Responsible for implementing Safety Improvement actions following agreed and prioritized project (based on e.g. employee reports, Synergi notifications, audits findings)

Contribute to the Modifications and Technical change process
-
Contribute to defining the technical safety procedures, including equipment LOTO
LEADERSHIP / PEOPLE:
-
Responsible for establishing a Maintenance team prepared to cover the maintenance demand at any time
-
Accountable for the competence development of Maintenance team, as well as developing succession plan
-
Accountable for driving a plan to develop engagement drivers for the team (following People Survey / Hydro Monitor and other benchmarking tools).

Responsible for planning and following the Maintenance budget.
OPERATIONNAL EXCELLENCE:
-
In charge of developing and coordinating the Maintenance workstream in the Operational Preparedness Plan: i.e., defining the maintenance organizational structures and procedures, the equipment technical structure, PM program, spare parts, the maintenance SOPS and specific OPLs, Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning activities, and performance checks

Responsible for implementing the Maintenance Management loop processes and developing a Reliability culture

Accountable for the equipment availability and the reliability improvement plan (Focuses on Failure Mitigation of Reliability Issues)

Accountable for the Maintenance Management System (CMMS SAP PM) and maintenance activities KPI (Quality, Timing, Back Log)

Responsible for planning and following the Maintenance OPEX budget
SUSTAIN AND IMPROVE:
-
Responsible for assessment and technology selection for all new equipment and growth projects.

Accountable for planning and implementing Sustaining CAPEX plan following a risk-based approach

Responsible for maturing, developing and executing growth/improvement projects
SCOPE:
-
Maintenance of all assets and equipment in the various production areas: scrap handling area, melting area, casting area and finishing area.

Maintenance and operation of the plant utilities and common infrastructures (electrical distribution, gas, water, compressed air, building but also automation Industrial Control Systems and IT systems)

In charge of the spare parts warehouse management

Contractor management
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
-
Minimum 5 years of work experience in an operations role in Manufacturing; preferred experience in metals industry
-
Certified Reliability Engineer preferred
-
Team player with good organizational skills
-
Develop strong understanding of Hydro Processes and Systems
-
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
-
Proven success in driving operational improvements
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-
Develop strong understanding of the SAP ERP System
-
Ability to execute and deliver within required guidelines
-
Strong influencing leadership skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Undergraduate degree in technical discipline; or 5 years hands on experience with progressive organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Track record of leading a department toward improved equipment reliability
-
Good communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills are essential.
PREFERED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Experience with Preventative Maintenance System preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct reports to include Maintenance Supervisor, Technicians, Inventory Management, Automation Specialist
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a heavy industrial environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Role also requires physical duties in manufacturing facility maintaining industrial equipment in extreme temperatures. Uniforms and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment are provided.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit while using a computer or attending meetings. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position onsite. Days and hours of work may vary but mostly Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand supporting operation.
TRAVEL:
Travel is less than 10% (i.e. visits to other Hydro plants or corporate office for meetings and/or training).
