QHSE Coordinator

Summary:

As a key member of the QHSE (Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental) team, the QHSE Coordinator will work under the direction of the QHSE Manager to assist in the execution of QHSE-related activities for plant operations, while aligning these functions with the overall plant and company business plan.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coaches, educates, and trains employees as to their impact and involvement pertaining to the QHSE management system
  • Educate, participate, and promote the Company’s QHSE processes 
  • Frequently evaluates the workplace and formulates recommendations to eliminate or control any safety or health exposures, environmental incidents, and quality non-conformities.
  • Performs product and process audits, report and follow up on findings.
  • Maintains proper operation and preventive maintenance of the Optical Emissions Spectrometer.
  • Conduct surveys to follow up the performance of the homogenizing furnaces.
  • Collect and audit quality documentation; follow up on incomplete reporting and data entry into process software.
  • Perform Wastewater, Stormwater, Solid waste inspections and prepare required reporting
  • Supports improvement projects and any other related task deemed appropriate by the QHSE Manager.
  • Lead QHSE orientation and provide training materials for new or reassigned employees. 

 

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required
  • A degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • An understanding of OSHA,  EPA, and ISO requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

 

Physical and Work Environment Demands:

  • Work is partly performed in a climate-controlled office setting, partly on the plant floor where individuals will have exposure to substantial heat and loud noises. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
