Shipping Receiving Specialist

 

Hydro Aluminum Metal is a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

 

Hydro’s Business Unit Recycling is currently running 5 extrusion ingot cast houses in Europe and 2 in the United States. With new construction of our third Recycling Plant in the US brings advanced technology to our Cassopolis MI facility with startup in fall of 2023. We are currently building the Teams that will support this new location, including the Shipping Receiving Clerk position.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Documentation & control of all receipts and shipments of metal products
  • Reconciliation & Record retention
  • Back-up support & coverage in areas where needed
  • Implementation and application of Housekeeping and HES principles
  • Implement and apply all needed documentation/system of the quality system in accordance with ISO 9001/2000, 14001, HES and Hydro Standards.
  • Follow training program within organization
  • Creation of all outbound shipping documents (BOL’s, Packing Slips, Delivery Notices)
  • Being in contact with the planner if specific materials need some priority
  • Maintain accurate data for statistical analysis
  • Follow up the dross contracts and deliveries
  • Participate in the development of HAC
  • SAP & APICS entries / documentation on all metals and alloys
  • Provide some Logistic related statistics
  • Responsible for daily / monthly reconciliations of receipts to insure accuracy across all reporting systems
  • Application and respect of all procedures related to the quality and environmental system and informing line manager on each deviation or incident

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills for dealing with vendors, customers, drivers, operators and management
  • Solid understanding of PCs, SAP, APICS and general network applications
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem solving and customer service skills
  • High energy level and the ability to handle several urgent tasks at once
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

 

TRAVEL: 

Travel is minimal.
