Extrusion Lead Person

Starting Rate of pay: $19.00

Shifts Available and Hours: Night Shift

7pm-7am
4x4 schedule

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads/manages a production crew to safely optimize press uptime, scrap rates, productivity, and performance through adherence to policy, procedures, and systems such as run to recipe.
  • Verifies product dimensions, finish, and quality in relation to customer print, tolerance, and internal expectations.
  • Reviews product hold items daily, dispositions and completes non-conformance process in a timely manner.
  • Develops/trains crew and new team members to achieve personal performance potential.
  • Understands department flow; including lot tickets, press schedules, tooling, log inventory levels, material handing at the saw, and through the age oven. 
  • Ensures proper operation of equipment for defects or issues and communicates downtime events and length of estimated downtime to Extrusion Supervisor and Extrusion Operations Manager.
  • Assures the team has prepared the oncoming shift for a smooth transition.
  • Prepared at shift changes and assures scheduled manning is present for efficient press operations.
  • Always uses employees effectively through productive time management of personnel, shares work force as need from press to press ensuring personnel is receiving the appropriate breaks per facility requirements.
  • Handles disciplinary actions as necessary with employees on crew with compassion in mind.
  • May help in incident investigations, in addition to documenting, reporting, and following up on actions related to incident occurring on assigned shifts; behavioral, safety, and/or other situations as needed. Communicates to Extrusion Operations Manager – Level 2’s, video reviews etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Ability to follow directions.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a factory or manufacturing setting.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure that shows measurements in feet and inches.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (preferred)
