Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes by overseeing and implementing equipment modifications and upgrades across the plant. This role focuses on improving the performance and reliability of electrical control and computer systems, ensuring smooth and efficient production operations. The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Technical degree or graduate from a Vocational Program.
  • Five years of Maintenance Experience in a Manufacturing area.
  • Minimum Three years of Supervisory experience.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proven Leadership necessary to supervise and motivate technical employees; including but not limited to a proven commitment to environmental, health and safety, strong communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • A working knowledge base of all Production Departments equipment and processes.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply).
  • Ability to perform basic computer application skills.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Ability to communicate (both written & verbal) and work well with all employees at all levels, willingness to learn new processes and work with limited supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement, sponsor, and support all continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
  • Responsible for measuring and managing employee performance including completing proper supporting departmental documentation in a professional manner.
  • Responsible to manage the daily, weekly, and monthly Preventive Maintenance System.
  • Manage all phases of equipment planned outages from plan inception through equipment returned to service.
  • Assists in identifying needs and participates in training activities to enable employee flexibility across tasks where possible.
  • Assign, direct, and provide efficient resources in both planned and unplanned equipment care environments.
  • Responsible for evaluating and providing technical assistance concerning maintenance issues and equipment reliability requirements.
  • Function as liaison between Maintenance, Fabrication, Cast, Paint, and Pack/Ship Departments.
  • Responsible to secure and manage contracted resources.
  • Understanding of numerous chemicals and how to work with them safely is a mandatory.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and knowledge to work in them.
  • Ability to work 8, 10, 12 hour rotating shifts depending on shift availability, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
