Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistency, standardization, and efficiency in plant-level processes, while fostering a culture based on lean principles to enhance quality performance and compliance. Collaborating closely with the Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer implements and audits best practices to uphold and improve quality processes and systems.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in engineering manufacturing roles
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years working on engineering projects, showcasing expertise in process improvement and quality. -Preferred
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting standards and tolerances.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing systems and quality control systems.
- Knowledgeable about key processes and their interrelationships.
- Ability to make logical decisions based on analysis and consider impacts on stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity with extrusion/painting processes is advantageous.
- Possesses a compliance mindset, ethics, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct process audits to identify non-conformances and best practices and collaborate with functional areas to rectify issues.
- Support the plant in resolving customer claims and complaints through internal investigations to minimize the cost of quality.
- Participate in corrective action and problem-solving activities, contributing to the development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Interpret drawings, aluminum standards, and data publications to ensure understanding of customer-specific requirements and production or quality standards.
- Streamline existing processes to achieve 100% compliance with new standards for data management and control, reporting any compliance issues identified.
