Press Trainee

Starting Rate of pay: $18.00

Shifts Available and Hours: Night Shift

7pm-7am
4x4 schedule

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts die changes efficiently to optimize uptime through preparedness and effective communication with other press crew TM’s.
  • Ensures correct tooling is ready and staged for next die change.
  • Safely optimizes die change times (1-minute).
  • Leave the oncoming shift tooling to make the next scheduled die change.
  • Ensures die setup is prepared and ready in a timely manner before order end.
  • Ensures all tooling is placed safely in designated racks to prevent storage of tooling on the floor and press organization.
  • Guides material out of the platen safely, as needed, with strong communication and alliance with press operator.
  • Reports any visual defects as noticed on the material during the extrusion process.
  • Relieves press and saw crews for breaks as needed or directed.
  • Collaborates with head-stretcher by aligning material on table as needed to help effectiveness of flow.
  • Productively collaborates with the saw crew as needed to help stack material and improve uptime as directed by frontline leadership – short cuts, faster profiles etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure that shows measurements in feet and inches.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (preferred)
