Monday – Friday

6:00pm to 6:00am (with flexibility)

Job Summary:

The Quality Lab Technician is basic quality inspection position to included but not limited to tensile, and metallurgy processing, while following all compliance standards. The Lab Technician will participate in continuous training, and educations to progress to a Quality Technician.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Ability to understand and deliver basic commands in English
  • Capability to work 8, 10, 12 hour rotating shifts depending on shift availability, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in reading and use a tape measure.
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Competence to perform basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply).
  • Skill to perform basic computer application skills.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous Quality Inspection knowledge is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment in the laboratory ranging from CNC sample preparation to tensile testing and, depending on the lab, OES spectrometry.
  • Perform age oven processing ensuring material meets both internal and external standards.
  • Perform hardness checks on material per customer requirements, as needed.
  • Accountable for compliance to standards on all remaining manual processes that were not able to be locked down through hardware and software upgrade.
  • Participates in formal training protocols for initial qualification followed by functional understanding of the process.
  • Continuous training to gain understanding of the metallurgy process.
  • Ability to interpret industry specification requirements and identify compliance issues in the documentation coming down from the ERP.
  • Ability to identify differences in testing requirements between industry and customer specific. 
  • Flags compliance issues which deviate from the standards.
