About the job and your team
Supports the operation by safely performing:
- Performs Lockout/Tagout procedures according to company policy
- Proactive maintenance
- Corrective maintenance
- Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of machinery, such as, electric motors and control circuits, hydraulic pumps, valves, pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders, cranes, automatic saws, conveyor/belt systems and related repair equipment such as welders, oxy-fuel torches, drill presses, machine tools, power tools and a full range of hand tools.
- Assisting in maintaining spare parts
- Continuously improving processes to reduce downtime
- Utilizing open lines of communication to resolve problems in a cost efficient and expedient manner.
You will work on
- Implement and apply all needed documentation/system of the quality system in accordance with ISO 9001/2000, 14001, HES and Hydro Standards.
- Follow proper Lock/Tag/Try procedures for machine lockouts as well as proper maintenance troubleshooting safety procedures
- Evaluate corrective maintenance requirements to determine the need for outside contractors
- Coordinate maintenance work performed by outside contractors
- Assist operations in obtaining production targets and eliminating bottlenecks by serving in the following processes when needed: Charging, melting, casting, homogenizing, sawing, packing, loading.
- Identify, comprehend and be responsible to consistently meet or exceed the “customers” quality objectives, both internal and external. “Do it right the first time”.
- Seek ways to continuously improve the process, equipment, and employee skill level
- Being the local partner for all vendors regarding technical issues.
- Ensure a proper record of all changes/modifications and authorization of those in the files.
- Implement the actions decided by the management as well as supporting the implementation of the optimizing of all equipment.
- Follow up of the non-conformities in authority fields
- Application and respect of all procedures related to the quality and environmental system and need to inform the line manager on each deviation or incident
- Be the back up resource for other job if needed.

Your qualifications and skills
- Minimum 2 years industrial maintenance experience or education equivalent
- Excellent communication and interaction skills for dealing with operators, shift leader, maintenance colleagues, management, vendors and partners.
- Excellent understanding of Housekeeping and HES principles, OSHA knowledge will be an advantage
- Solid understanding/knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, electrical and mechanical maintenance as well as Preventive maintenance and ability to pass mechanical comprehension and basic mathematics assessments.
- Motor controls troubleshooting experience required and PLC (preferred)
- Good math, reading and blueprint reading skills
- Solid understanding of PC’s as well as PM-software utilization.
- Problem solving skills essential to fixing production service and manufacturing system problems
- High energy level and the ability to handle several urgent tasks at once
- Ability to stand, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and climb on and into equipment on a frequent basis
- Have on call availability
Pay Range: $36.00-$42.00 per hour depending upon skill level and experience
