Starting Rate of Pay:
$21.00/ hour
Shift Premium: $2.00/ hour
Shifts Available and Hours:
Sunday-Wednesday 7:50 pm-6:00 am
What you will be doing
- Operate a variety of lab equipment, including CNC sample preparation tools, tensile testing machines, and (depending on the lab) OES spectrometry.
- Ensure full compliance with standards for all manual testing processes and report any deviations immediately.
- Develop deep expertise in tensile testing procedures, related lab methods, and foundational metallurgy over time.
- Interpret industry specifications and verify that ERP-generated documentation meets all required standards.
- Review customer-specific testing requirements, identify differences from industry standards, and flag any compliance risks.
- Participate in preventative maintenance activities, monitor equipment performance, and report issues to the Lab Supervisor.
- Support quality decision-making by dispositioning non-conforming product, coordinating customer referrals, and assisting Quality Engineering with trials, data collection, analysis, and inspections.
- Follows applicable Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions.
- Understands and follows all safety policies.
- Able to work set schedule for full 12 hour shift.
- Work in both hot and cold conditions.
- Maintain proper Personnel Protective Equipment.
- Attends training sessions as required.
- Overtime may be required for job duties.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Work, Power Point and AS400.

Basic understanding of safety principles and the ability to recognize risks and hazards.

Strong commitment to quality standards and understanding of basic quality concepts.

Solid housekeeping and organizational skills.

Basic math skills.

Ability to read and interpret part blueprints.

Basic knowledge and use of measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, indicators, taper gauges, height gauges).

Effective problem‑solving skills, including the ability to verify and investigate out‑of‑tolerance conditions.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills.

Reliable, trustworthy, and able to complete tasks on time with limited supervision, including timely escalation of issues.

- Prior experience working with quality or safety programs.
- Experience using precision measurement tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements or prevent quality defects.
