What you will be doing
Operate overhead cranes to safely move aluminum products, racks, bundles, and materials throughout the packing and production areas.
Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report equipment defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately.
Supply packing stations with required materials and remove scrap or completed product efficiently to support production flow.
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements, job safety analyses (JSAs), and participation in daily safety meetings.
Maintain a clean and organized work area through housekeeping and 5S practices.
Assist with packing, banding, and other production activities when crane operation duties are not required.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to understand, speak, and follow basic verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to complete pre-use equipment inspections and accurately identify and report safety or equipment issues.
Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform frequent climbing, reaching, walking, and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow work instructions, safety procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous overhead crane operating experience in a manufacturing, extrusion, metals, or industrial production environment.
Experience supporting packaging, shipping, or material handling operations.
Familiarity with 5S, housekeeping standards, and continuous improvement practices.
Experience conducting equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
