Starting Rate of pay: $26.26/hour

Shift and hours available: 6AM to 6PM and 6PM to 6AM

Shift Premium: $1 additional for working night shift

What you will be doing

Set up and operate 7-inch and 10-inch extrusion presses according to established production parameters and work instructions.

Monitor press performance to ensure product quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to production schedules.

Use measuring tools and equipment to verify product specifications and identify quality issues.

Complete press setups, tooling changes, and operational adjustments to maximize uptime and productivity.

Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies while performing daily job duties.

Maintain a clean, organized work area through housekeeping and 5S practices.

Report safety concerns, near misses, equipment issues, and production abnormalities promptly to supervision.

What will make you successful?

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Prior experience operating industrial production equipment preferred.
  • Experience in aluminum extrusion manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of aluminum extrusion experience preferred.
  • Previous experience operating aluminum extrusion presses.
  • Experience performing press startups, shutdowns, and die changes.
  • Experience with automated extrusion equipment and production systems.
  • Experience working with quality systems and manufacturing documentation.
  • Forklift certification and/or overhead crane experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and monitor extrusion press equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate 7-inch or 10-inch extrusion presses.
  • Knowledge of extrusion dies, tooling, billet preparation, and alloy characteristics.
  • Ability to read and follow production schedules, work instructions, quality specifications, and work orders.
  • Understanding of product quality inspection processes and non-conforming material handling.
  • Experience using measuring devices including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic computer skills for production reporting, documentation, and data entry.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and basic Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team manufacturing environment.
