Shifts Available and Hours:
Day Shift - 6AM to 6PM EOWEO
Night Shift - 6PM to 6AM EOWEO
Shift Premium: $1 additional for working night shift
What you will be doing
- Lead daily press crew operations by prioritizing safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, and adherence to established extrusion processes and procedures.
- Conduct shift-start safety toolbox talks and perform routine safety and housekeeping audits, escalating concerns and corrective actions to the Extrusion Supervisor.
- Review production schedules and provide clear direction to team members to ensure production goals, customer requirements, and quality standards are achieved.
- Monitor crew performance throughout the shift, identify operational issues, and communicate performance, training, or process concerns to leadership.
- Oversee the production of quality extrusions by ensuring compliance with work instructions, quality procedures, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate and support die changes, minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
- Complete accurate production, quality, and operational documentation and support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the department.
What will make you successful?
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aluminum extrusion manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Lead Operator, Press Crew Operator, or similar leadership role within an extrusion environment.
- Proven experience coordinating and directing press crew activities.
- Experience performing die changes, startup and shutdown procedures, and troubleshooting extrusion processes.
- Demonstrated ability to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
- Experience with production reporting systems and manufacturing documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Thorough understanding of quality requirements, process controls, and extrusion specifications.
- Proficiency using quality measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, specifications, and technical documents.
- Thorough knowledge of LPL and manufacturing reporting systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and production reporting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
