What you will be doing

Job Summary:  The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and assisting in installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, and equipment. This role has responsibility in executing work priorities to team members based on production demands/needs, directs team members on scheduling repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, supports product development and improvements.

 

  • Assists in the design, implementation, and modifications of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Resolves maintenance problems by conferring with management, engineering, and quality as needed.
  • Oversee, direct and schedule maintenance team and activities in adherence to the manufacturing schedule. 
  • Ensure proper preventative maintenance is completed, training is executed to team members, and safety measures are adhered to.
  • Troubleshoot, perform root-cause analysis, repair, rebuild and/or replace manufacturing and facilities equipment and systems. 
  • Assist in developing the technical capabilities and skills of less experienced team members as needed and appropriate.
  • Update SOP’s and work instructions as needed.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Lead, motivate, train, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance team members; provide regular, constructive performance feedback.
  • Actively support, enforce, and monitor the site safety program to ensure compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Supervise and support troubleshooting activities to ensure timely, effective, and efficient return of equipment to service.
  • Ensure accurate and complete maintenance documentation in MVP, including who/what/where/when/how details, actual labor hours, and parts usage.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and labor support as needed to complete interruptible and emergency maintenance work.
  • Coordinate and share after-hours emergency response coverage with the PM/PdM Supervisor.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and effective communication with employees, contractors, and vendors at all times.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong technical understanding across a wide range of areas, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to learn and utilize CMMS, Oracle, and other relevant software for this role.
  • Preferred knowledge of extrusion equipment and processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years in an industrial manufacturing setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting or overseeing preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs.
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning, scheduling, and kitting processes.
  • Experience partnering with planners or reliability teams to drive continuous improvement and reduce repeat work.
  • Understanding of backlog management and strategies to improve work execution efficiency.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized and/or industrial manufacturing environment (if applicable).
