Electrical Systems and Batteries Manager, Hydro Rein

Responsibilities
You will be the electrical discipline/lead engineer in Rein’s projects throughout different project phases (development, design, construction, operation).

 

Key tasks will be to:

  • Be the contact regarding any electrical engineering topics in Hydro Rein projects.
  • Review electrical design drawings submitted by partners/contractors and provide value engineering solutions during different phases of the projects.
  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate electrical integration and interconnection of energy storage systems.
  • Coordinate electrical work packages during different phases of the project and perform site visits to inspect work quality.
  • Evaluate the performance of electrical components and propose methods for improvement. 
  • Mentor and train team members on electrical design, interconnection, and energy modelling.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and green technologies/grids and participate in internal/external expert forums. 

 

Who are you?

  • You have strong competence and understanding of electrical engineering and renewables integration topics.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, who enjoys sharing knowledge.
  • You are comfortable working in a start-up environment, where processes and guidelines are under development and considerable amounts of autonomy and flexibility are required

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical engineering
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in connecting renewable energy sources/batteries at site behind or in front of the meter.
  • Have commissioned at least 2 grid-connected battery projects 
  • Understanding selection criteria of transformers and switch gear
  • Working experience in the Nordics/Germany is a plus
  • Fluent in English, German/Scandinavian language is a plus

 

Additional information
You will report to Head of Technology. The preferred location for this role is in Oslo/Norway, but it might be possible to work in our Hague office in the Netherlands if a preferred candidate is already based there.
