Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
Role Purpose
As a Mendix Software Engineer at Hydro, you will become part of a young and dynamic team. We are an international group of seven developers who highly value collaboration, integrity, and fostering a warm, open working environment.
Our team is small enough to maintain close, personal connections with everyone, yet large enough to make a meaningful impact by optimizing business processes across the organization. We are looking for a motivated colleague who enjoys taking on new challenges and coming up with creative solutions. Within our diverse application landscape—ranging from shop floor operations to finance and logistics—you will work on a wide variety of tasks, offering both depth and breadth in your role.

Your Responsibilities
As a Mendix Developer within our development team, you will: • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Mendix applications • Take ownership of one of our flagship applications—your work will be visible and used across the organization • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate user stories into functional and user-friendly solutions • Test and debug applications in line with our quality standards • Analyze issues and implement solutions • Document development processes and technical specifications • Participate in peer reviews and contribute to improving team standards
What You Bring
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in software development • Hands-on experience with the Mendix platform • Familiarity with Agile methodologies in an IT environment • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Mendix Advanced certification (or willingness to obtain this in the near future) • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Mendix Cloud • Experience with Java, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS is a plus • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong communication abilities • Strong time management and organizational skills
