The ideal candidate combines strong Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay knowledge with hands-on S/4HANA experience, analytical ability, resourcefulness, and a high degree of ownership. Success in this role requires the ability to independently research issues, identify root causes, recommend sustainable solutions, and drive matters through resolution.

What you will be doing

  • Serve as an AP subject matter expert, with particular emphasis on VIM and SAP S/4HANA processes and functionality.
  • Research and resolve complex invoice, payment, vendor-account, workflow, purchase-order, goods-receipt, GR/IR, and GRNI issues.
  • Analyze SAP documents and transactional data to identify system, process, master-data, and integration issues.
  • Support Oracle-to-S/4HANA migrations, system enhancements, go-live activities, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Assist with testing, including test-script development, user acceptance testing, defect documentation, and validation of corrections.
  • Partner with AP Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, business units, and plant personnel to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and automate Accounts Payable processes.
  • Support invoice automation, OCR, workflow, reporting, and other digital initiatives.
  • Analyze AP KPIs and operational data to identify trends, risks, recurring exceptions, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, process documentation, training materials, and job aids.
  • Support month-end close, audit requests, reconciliations, internal controls, and critical payment activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on S/4HANA processes, system changes, and AP best practices.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7 or more years of Accounts Payable or Procure-to-Pay experience.
  • Hands-on SAP experience, with strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable processes.
  • Experience in a shared services and manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Experience supporting ERP migrations, system enhancements, or implementations.
  • Experience with system testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis; Power Query is preferred.
  • Experience with reporting, KPI analysis, invoice workflow, OCR, or automation tools.
  • Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Resourceful and able to independently research unfamiliar issues.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Strong systems thinking and understanding of upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Continuous-improvement and automation mindset.
  • Able to translate business needs into practical system and process improvements.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence without authority.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Able to balance detailed operational work with broader process-improvement priorities.
