Location: Remote with up to 50% travel.
Pay Range: $76,117 - $103,313
What you will be doing
Job Summary: An Environmental Engineering Technician assists environmental engineers in addressing environmental complaince and suatinability activities that support ENA's focus on the environment. The role involves a mix of fieldwork, lab analysis, and data collection, along with helping implement solutions that reduce pollution, waste, and environmental hazards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Data Collection: Interface with other workgroups to collect and aggregate environmental and sustainability data, including energy consumption, water consumption, waste generation, and other data necessary for life cycle assessments needed to update and/or refresh ENA location EPDs. Ensure data accuracy through established data validation processes.
Reporting: Analyze collected data and compile it into reports. Assist engineers in interpreting data to support environmental assessments, audits, and project planning. Develop presentations needed to report out on energy, water, waste reduction improvements, biodiversity, and other environmentally related reports.
Customer Inquiries: Respond to all ENA customer environmental inquiries and surveys related to sustainability and compliance, including but not limited to REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, CBAM, EcoVadis, etc.
Site Audits: Support ENA locations in preparations for ASI certification audits specifically related to environmental compliance and sustainability. Assist in on-site inspections to evaluate environmental impacts of projects or existing facilities. Identify and document environmental opportunities for improvement.
Compliance Monitoring: Assist engineers with monitoring facilities to ensure they meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Help document any violations and recommend corrective actions.
Support Environmental Projects: Work with ENA operations to identify improvements and develop roadmaps to reduce energy consumption, water consumption, waste to landfill, waste generation, and chemical usage. Where possible, assist locations in implementing and monitoring environmental projects.
Communication and Training: Work with engineers to connect people, resources, and ideas across the organization in support of ENA’s compliance and sustainability goals. Work closely with central, regional, and plant environmental resources to communicate and cascade best practices across ENA through training, boots on the ground, network meetings, and/or other methods of communication.
Documentation and Recordkeeping: Support maintenance and upkeep of SharePoint sites and records associated with best practices, sustainability, environmental reporting, training, and compliance activities.
What will make you successful?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences. (required)
- 3-5 years of professional experience in the environmental field. (required)
- Fluency in English. (required)
- Experience with environmental sustainability and compliance. Familiarity with applicable federal and state environmental regulations. (preferred)
- Working knowledge of sustainability reporting, carbon footprint calculations, energy consumption, greenhouse gas reporting, waste stream segregation, waste minimization, environmental regulations, life cycle analysis, environmental declarations, ISO & ASI standards. (preferred)
