Pay Range: $56,505-$76,223 

Job Summary

The HR & HSE Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for Human Resources and Health, Safety & Environmental functions within a manufacturing facility. This role supports HR processes, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, training, recordkeeping, safety programs, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, and workforce engagement while helping ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.

What you will be doing

• Foster collaborative culture where all employees follow company health and safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Provide HR/HSE administrative support, employee recordkeeping, onboarding, data entry, benefits support, payroll coordination for union specific requirements, reporting, and employee relations assistance. 
• Collaborate with shared services and other plant functions to provide positive work environment. 
• Maintain HR and HSE documentation to ensure compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. 
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, workplace concerns, and safety matters.
• Immediately alert management of any serious health, safety, or HR issue and present effective solutions for implementation.
• Coordinate training programs including new hire orientation, HR policy training, safety training, and regulatory compliance training. 
• Facilitate onboarding programs ensuring employees receive proper safety training, understanding of company policies, and have access to necessary resources. 
• Maintain records databases: safety records, training records, performance reviews, incident reports, evacuation documentation, payroll, attendance and compliance reports. 
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, Job Hazard Analyses, and workplace observations to identify risks and improvement opportunities. 
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and workers compensation cases; determine root causes and track corrective actions. 
• Organize and maintain labor relations documentation, ensuring alignment with CBA-mandated processes.
• Facilitate safety committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives. 
• Generate HR and HSE metrics, reports, and trend analyses for management. 
• Support continuous improvement projects related to workforce effectiveness, safety performance, and compliance. 

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of HR, Health & Safety manufacturing administration, or related field, preferably in a unionized or manufacturing environment, where applicable.
• English required; additional language skills are a plus.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• SHRM-CP, PHR, ASP, CSP, CIH, RIHP, or equivalent certifications.
• Familiarity with HR policies, labor laws (FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA), and collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.
• Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems (e.g., Kronos, ADP, UltiPro, Workday), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, incident management, and training administration. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance.
• Travel Minimal (less than 10%)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee concerns.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining compliance.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to HR/HSE support functions.
