Hydro Aluminium Metal is a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods, and high-purity aluminium, with a global production network of around 6,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminium production is based on renewable energy.
What you will be doing
Recycling in Hydro is a strategic growth area for the future, supporting the megatrends towards a circular, more sustainable and low-carbon economy. Aluminium Metal Recycling business unit operates 16 production sites in 8 countries across Europe and the US and consists of ~1200 employees. We have grown significantly in the past few years, increasing the size and complexity of the business.
We are now looking for a new experienced team member to strengthen business performance and strategy processes — and to improve quality, transparency, and digitalization across the business.
With recycling playing a critical role in Hydro’s strategic direction and investments, this role is critical for contributing to long-term success of the recycling business in Hydro. You will play a central role in professionalizing core processes and supporting strategic performance across the Recycling business unit.
Working closely with the Head of Finance and Strategy, you will:
• Run core performance and strategy processes, including the strategy process, business planning, KPI scorecard development, risk management.
• Prepare material for important performance forums towards recycling management and senior management in Hydro.
• Follow up performance across business segments, harmonize reporting, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead portfolio analyses, including deep-dives, benchmarking, and ad-hoc performance work.
• Accelerate digitization and automation of performance reporting, develop data visualization dashboards.
• Act as a sparring partner to the Head of Finance & Strategy and the Head of Recycling, and support decision making.
What will make you successful?
• A Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar quantitative field.
• At least 5 years’ experience, ideally from management consulting, investment banking, or performance/strategy-oriented roles.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and maintain a strategic perspective.
• A structured, detail-oriented approach and proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Experience collaborating across functions, organizational levels, and cultures; curiosity and willingness to learn the fundamentals of recycling.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Competence and drive to support development of data visualization and business intelligence solutions
• Ability to work independently and drive processes to completion in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in business English (written and verbal)
