Communication & Public Affairs in Hydro is a world-wide organization located in Norway, Brussels, Germany, USA, and Brazil. The function is closely integrated with Hydro’s operations and businesses. 

We are now looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Government Affairs team in Norway. If you are a professional with experience from high-level political work in Norway and keen to continue working on key societal issues and energy matters, we would love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and execute government affairs strategy for Norway, in close cooperation with the relevant Business Areas and Group functions;
  • Help develop Hydro positions and policy requests;
  • Implement strategic actions, follow-up government bodies and political stakeholders in Norway to position Hydro and secure favorable, stable, and predictable framework conditions for Hydro;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with strategic political stakeholders and government officials, including regulatory agencies, public bodies, associations and institutions;
  • Monitor and report regulatory- and policy development in Norway
  • Participate and represent Hydro’s interests in strategic industry associations. 

What will make you successful?

  • Relevant experience from high-level political work in Norway
  • Strong commercial understanding, including good insights into the energy markets
  • Strong IT skills
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian.  
  • Higher education in political science, finance, economics, law or international relations  

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a structured and solution-oriented approach, combining attention to detail with delivering results. 

You are friendly, have strong interpersonal skills, and thrive with managing a variety of cases in a fast-paced and international environment.
