 Job Description:

Responsible for performing functions to develop and implement quality systems for the recognition and implementation of continuous product and process improvements and cost reductions in the manufacture of the organization's products, working within the limits of established policies.

Detail duties include: 

  • Supervise the RWT quality team, including quality lead and technicians for all shifts; administrate priorities, scheduling, overtime, vacation, performance evaluations and details over failure mode analysis.
  • Prepare and present root cause analysis and project status to customers as required.
  • Along with the quality manager, takes decisions over immediate containment actions at customer premises.
  • Review RT customer inquiries, requests for quotations and related specifications, evaluate the organization's capability for compliance, and recommend acceptance or make recommendations for exceptions. Maintain customer specifications as controlled documents.
  • Prepare and submit PPAP documentation and samples for approval by customers to qualify new and revised products and processes.
  • Provide quality assurance support and training for internal departments. Interpret product tolerances and specifications relating to product deviations and make quality disposition decisions.
  • Establish and maintain quality management system processes and documentation such as process flow diagrams, PFMEA’s, control plans, process controls, work instructions, and inspection plans and records.
  • Perform audits of quality management systems and manufacturing processes, created related records and follow-up on nonconformities to closure in order to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Perform studies and report process capability analyses to validate new or changed RT products and processes.
  • Develop effective and productive working relationships with RT customers. Anticipate, manage, and meet RT customer expectations related to PPAP’s, process changes, corrective actions, and other quality-related issues. Manage resolution of customer complaints in the best interest of Hydro and facilitate completion of effective corrective actions.
  • Support the maintenance quality system software and related databases.
  • Support management of the QM systems including IATF-16949 standard compliance.
  • Contribute to meetings and teams formed to resolve a wide range of problems.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies related to the position. Acquire and apply knowledge of Hydro’s safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
  • 15% travel to Collierville, Tennessee, and Monterrey, Mexico. Approximately one (1) week of travel will be to Monterrey, Mexico, and the remainder of the travel requirement will be to Collierville, Tennessee.
  • Supervise seven (7) QA Technicians, one (1) RWT Tech Lead and one (1) Field Sr. Quality Engineer.

What will make you successful?

The position of Quality Manager Welded Tube requires a Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent in Engineering or Mathematics and two (2) years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience.

Specific Skills or Other Requirements:

Additionally, the applicant must have experience with:

  1. Aluminum manufacturing processes for HVAC & Refrigeration.
  2. Working with round, extruded, and welded tubes.
  3. Internal lubrication processes for aluminum tubing.
  4. Failure analysis and defect resolution in collaboration with customers.
  5. Supervising subordinates.
  6. Data Analysis.
  7. Process Improvement.
  8. Quality Management Systems.

Rate of Pay: $106,725/year
